Griselda is a Mexican-American Clinical Social Worker who is currently based out of Mexico City, Mexico where she is working remotely for the Latinx Therapists Action Network and completing a Diploma in Adult Gestalt Therapy through the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). She recently received her Master in Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA. Since 2013, Griselda has directed a volunteer mentoring program in Cambridge, MA, worked as a Family Support Worker and then Intensive Care Coordinator through Riverside Community Care, interned in the Community Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) program through The Italian Home for Children in Jamaica Plain, MA, and interned in the outpatient therapy clinic at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Chelsea Healthcare Center.

Throughout Griselda's clinical career, she has trained and adapted techniques from the following theoretical frameworks: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relational Theory, Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory, Liberation Health Framework, and most recently Carl Rogers person-centered theory and Gestalt. For Griselda, diagnosis is not a priority (although can be useful in some cases with the client's consent), but rather the client and therapist need to have a working understanding of the client's context at multiple levels and communicate what oppressive factors might be at play. Once there is a mutual understanding, Griselda will work with clients to build vocabulary around this context and (re)discover what is within the client's control/awareness to improve their situation. Griselda is currently only providing virtual non-therapeutic coaching via Zoom. As she is not yet licensed to practice therapy in the US, please note that she can only offer support through coaching and assistance with identifying resources/supports in your geographical region. We are not a service provider.  We have created a directory of culturally grounded Latinx therapists who believe in the human rights of migrant peoples. This directory is meant to be a resource for all those who are Latinx and anyone engaged in advancing the human rights and dignity of Latinx migrant communities across the United States.   This directory is a list of mental health professionals and not a recommendation or guarantee of quality service by LTAN.  We highly encourage everyone to research and consult directly with providers before beginning services with them to ensure it is a good fit.
