Biography
Rebecca García Rangel, has a Masters in Social Work and has six years of experience working with (im)migrants who have been trafficked, experienced severe abuse, have criminal or delinquency history, or have been exposed to community violence whether in their home country, while they were in-transit, and/or once in the United States. As a Social Worker in the legal setting, Rebecca advocates for the creation and implementation of a holistic defense model that responds to the ever-changing environment (im)migrant communities face. Rebecca has experience with physically and emotionally accompanying clients through the complex immigration system, assessing their physical and mental health needs and collaborating with them to secure services to meet those needs, providing immediate intervention when crises arise, and building trusting relationships that enable clients to establish or regain coping mechanisms so that they can participate effectively in their legal cases and in their lives.
